Before returning a microscope to its storage cabinet you should make sure: (1) That all slides have been removed and that the stage and lenses are clean. (2) The rotary switch used to adjust the light intensity (rheostat) is turned to its lowest position and the light switch is turned off. (3) The lowest power (shortest) objective is left in place. (4) The power cord has been neatly wrapped around the base of the scope. (5) The left-right arm of the mechanical stage is centered (the arm does not project outward from the side of the microscope). |
