This image shows  section of the kidney from the renal cortex, which contains numerous renal corpuscles and renal tubules cut through various planes.  Note that the wall of the renal tubules consists of simple cuboidal epithelium, while the wall of Bowman's capsule is formed from simple squamous epithelium.  Each renal corpuscle consists of a cuplike structure called Bowman's capsule, which is drained by a proximal convoluted tubule (not shown on this slide).  Within Bowman's capsule is a capillary bed called the glomerulus, which is served by an afferent renal arteriole and drained by an efferent renal arteriole.
