Bubo virginianus

The Great Horned Owl: The greatest owl around!

used with permissionBubo virginianus is commonly known as the great horned owl. An adult bird stands about two feet tall. It is brown in color with great yellow eyes, but its most distiguishable characteristics are their long feathered ear tufts. They are found all across North and South America in various forested areas. These wooded areas range from the evergreens to tropical forests (Encyclopedia of Life).

The purpose of this project is to inform about the species Bubo virginianus. This web page is apart of a project done at University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. Other species webpages can be found at http://www.multipleorganisms.net
