  Dorsal root ganglion (close-up)

Unit_06-04a

 1. Nucleolus

 2. Nucleus

 3. Cell body

FredsLine

This slide shows magnified view of a portion of one dorsal root ganglion.  Although the cell body, nucleus and nucleolus of these unipolar neurons are readily apparent, it is difficult to see any of the nerve cell processes.  Note how round the nerve cell bodies of unipolar neurons are relative to the shape of the nerve cell body in multipolar neurons.
