A Little Bit of Background Information:

Cyathocotyle bushiensis is a parasite that affects multiple types of waterfowl every year. There are mass die-offs reported in areas where Bythinia tentaculata, the intermediate host, is located. There is still research being conducted to fully understand C. bushiensis and try to contain the affects on the waterfowl population.
