Interesting Facts about Macaroni Penguins.....    

** Largest member of genus Eudyptes, or the crested Penguins.**                                                       

** Can eat up to four million tons of Krill each year.**

**Most abundant of the worlds penguins.**

**Estimated total population of twelve million breeding pairs.**

**Named after 18th Century young English Explorers; they had orange fur on their hats and called themselves "macaroni".**

**These Penguins usually kick out their first laid egg after they lay the second one.  This is a very uncommon behavior for birds, including Penguins!**
