Pacific Seahorse
(Hippocampus ingens)

Close up of an orange Pacific Seahorse
Taken by Ethan Gordon

Seahorses are extremely fascinating. There are around 35 different species of seahorses with the largest being the Pacific Seahorse. They are found all over the world in temperate and tropical salt waters. These creatures are unique because they are the only animal where the male gets pregnant. (Check this out in the reproduction part.) Another reason why these creatures are so cool is because they have a head that is shaped as a horse and it has a long tail. Did you know the seahorse has no stomach or teeth?
