Interactions

           The Reef Stonefish and man:  An estimated 1.5 to 2 million people across the world have marine aquariums.  Many of which have Reef Stonefish in their aquarium.  also when the Reef Stonefish is accidentally stepped on by a human it injects a painful venom as a defense system.  In some places such as Hong Kong the Reef Stonefish is actually fished for food.  It has been described that they have tender and tasty flesh. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

          

 

           As many other organisms, the Reef Stonefish has predators as well.  As it  predates crustaceans and other fish, it is vulnerable to other bottom feeding predators such as the rays and sharks
