Hello! My name is Andrew Sewalish. I am currently a junior at the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse. I am studying Biology with a Bio-Med concentration, with hopes of becoming a Physician’s Assistant (P.A.). I decided to do this website on the plant H. lupulus because I have recently starting brewing beer myself with the outstanding help of a college friend and his dad, thanks Mark and Ralph Witte! I am completely fascinated with the process of brewing beer, and the fact that four ingredients (malt, hops, yeast, and water) can, through an almost elegant and simple chemical reaction, create such a delicious drink! This website has offered me a great chance to study this plant, not only to learn for my education but for an interesting and hopefully long lived pass time.

For more interesting reading, check these websites out!
Some of these are used in brewing beer as well.
