Welcome To The World Of Microorganisms!

Microcystis is a a cyanobacterium that creates multiple toxins. It can be found many places. Instead of travelling far away on some trek halfway around the world UW-L's very own Eric A. Strauss was able to collect Microcystis from nearby Pigeon Lake. He used a zooplankton net to catch the microorganism and then condensed them into a jar containing formaldehyde. This goes to show that you don't need to go to the rainforest to appreciate the variety and splendor of life. With that I suggest you read along in my webpage to see the beauty found in examining organisms that are close to home.
