BIO 203

Welcome!

This website is centered on the venomous stonefish, Synanceia verrucosa.  This fish, may not look like a fish, but it has a very interesting background when it comes to its effect on humans and its normal prey.  It is necessary to know about the stonefish interactions with society even if just for safety.  This site will also explain the stonefish taxonomic classification as well as its adaptation to its surrounding habitat, and finally the nutrition and reproduction information about the Synanceia verrucosa is also included.  Fun facts and references are listed on the last two pages.

Click here to go to the website containing many more interesting organisms made by students at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.  If there are further questions I am Nicole Fronek, a freshman at UW-La Crosse graduating in 2016, and can be reached at fronek.nico@uwlax.edu.  For more information about myself, visit the Contact Me page.  Now dive into this webpage to discover more about Synanceia verrucosa, but not too deep, they live in shallow waters.
