Welcome!

This website is dedicated to the land snail species of Guppya sterkii.

This species of snail, which is also known as the "Brilliant Granule" or "Sterki's granule", is a rare and endangered land snail (Wisconsin DNR, 2011).  It is one of the smallest American land snails with a height of approximately 0.75mm (Hubricht, 1985).  The most distinctive aspect of this species would have to be its minute shell (Hubricht, 1985).  It is thin, yellowish, and translucent with 3.5-4 rounded whorls (Hubricht, 1985).  On the remainder of this site, you will be able to find more information regarding the habitat, adaptations, nutrition, and reproduction of this species.
