Introduction to the species Tabanus longiglossus

Tabanus longiglossus is most often known as a species of horsefly.  Horseflies are infamous in the Midwest region.  They are most well known by fishermen and those that frequent the lakes and marshes of the area for that is where they are most commonly found.  The bites that are inflicted by the females are, to say the least, dreadful.
