This site is dedicated the insect Myrmeleon immaculatus, which is commonly known as the Antlion. The Antlion's genus and species name comes for the Latin root; mymex which means ant and leon which mean lion.  This website will hopefully inform you about the classifications, habitat, and nutrition of this special insect. It will also provide descriptions on the antlion's life history and how it reproduces. The Antlion is a very interesting and unique species, as it spends most of its life in the larval stage.
