Welcome!

This website is part of a collaborative project, MultipleOrganisms.net, for Animal Biology 210 at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. On this page you can find a variety of information about the Synanthedon viburni, or the Viburnum clearwing borer.

There are two species of clearwing borer moths; Synanthedon viburni (S. viburni) and Synanthedon fatifera. This website is devoted to information about the Viburnum clearwing borer, S. viburni. The Viburnum plant species is typical of the Midwest. Plant harm among this species in Wisconsin is commonly attributed to the S. viburni caterpillars (Pellitteri 2004).
