Whitetip reef sharks eat a variety of animals found in coral reefs. These animals include ocotopi, lobsters, and several species of bony fish. These include eels and parrotfish, which can be seen in the image on the left (Education). These sharks hunt by driving prey into crevices in the coral and trapping them. They do this primarily at night as they are nocturnal (Education).
