Some Blood Sucking Fun Facts
- Paddle fish, the host of Ichthyomyzon unicuspis, are known to breach, or jump out of the water completely and hit the water with its side. It has been observed that Paddlefish breach to rid themselves of the parasitic Ichthyomyzon unicuspis (Cochran & Lyons 2010).
Pictured above is a Paddlefish, the Silver Lamprey's main food source.
