About the AuthorThe Author

My name is Ben Harris and I'm a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse. I am majoring in Biology with a biomedical concentration and a chemistry minor, and hope to continue my education at medical school. I enjoy almost every sport; I run and play basketball, badminton, and football with my buddies.

I made this webpage on F. vesiculosus as a project for my Organismal Biology class, and the theme this year was "medicinal organisms." I chose Bladderwrack because quite a few of my classmates, along with previous years' students, chose the "charismatic megafauna" such as sharks and tigers, and I wanted to learn more about a species that was very different from all of these. If you would like to learn more about the diversity that other students at UW-L have researched, such as the Giant Red Velvet Might, or even the Great Seahorse, you can go to multipleorganisms.net to do so.
