Who am I?

My name is Nicholas Rappa, I am currently a student at the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse. I am majoring in Biology with a concentration in Biomedical Sciences and am planning on receiving a minor in both Chemistry and Spanish. Once I receive a Bachelor's degree, I hope to attend medical school and become a doctor. I have always had the desire and the passion to take care of and help individuals in need. Becoming a doctor and having a minor in Spanish, would allow me to travel around North and South America volunteering and using my medical knowledge to help those less fortunate than myself. I know that to become a doctor, there is a lot of hard work and studying required. The knowledge of this reality does not deter me. I can not think of any other profession I would like to do in my life. I am from White Bear Lake, Minnesota a north suburb of the Twin Cities. Although I did not travel too far from home to go to school, I can definitely say life here is not the same. I have the opportunity to meet people from all different classes and cultures; I even have some friends who grew up on a farm!

Between a lot of homework, volunteering, and extracurricular activities, I always find time to relax. I enjoy hanging out with friends and being physically active! I love playing hockey, soccer, and lacrosse. When I am not keeping physically active, I enjoy spending time just in the presence of my friend. Sitting out on the lake and soaking up the sun in the summer, we have the chance to catch up and talk about our hopes and dreams. I also enjoy singing, but never in front of anyone!
