  • Green sea turtles willingly come to shore on secluded beaches and sunbathe, this is not common among sea turtle species.

  • These turtles do not get their name from the color of their shell, rather from the green fat deposits around their internal organs.
-These fatty deposits are green because of all the algae they eat.

  • Even though it is illegal, sea turtles are still hunted.

  • A female turtle will lay her eggs on the same beach she was hatched on.

-Scutes would look like nostrils on a turtle

  • Green Sea Turtles are hunted because they are fleshy turtles, and therefore used in turtle soup.
