Where is this found?

W. Bancrofti is primarily found in Africa, South America, and other tropical and sub-tropical countries. It affects approximately 80 countries, and 120 million people have been documented as hosts of this nematode.

As of right now, there are some drugs that people in these countries can take to limit the effects of the parasite. However, getting these drugs to these third world countries are difficult. Also, the drugs only kill the parasites in the developmental stage. Nothing has been found to treat adult worms that are already inhabiting humans.
