Horseradish: Armoracia rusticana

Welcome

Armoracia rusticana is a perennial plant in the mustard family and likely native to Southeastern Europe and Western Asia. But not many people think of a flower when they think of Armoracia rusticana because it is not the part we use. Horseradish sauce comes from the roots of this plant giving it its common name “horseradish” . What you will find on this website is an explanation of Horseradish as an organism, not merely a condiment or root. This website is a part of a growing project by the students at the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse. If you would like to find out more about many different organisms, check out MultipleOrganisms.net
