This is the site that has everything you will ever need to know about Vicugna pacos! Most people refer to Vicugna pacos as the alpaca. The alpaca is a domesticated relative of the Vicuña (Vicugna vicugna).
Vicugna pacos are slender bodied mammals; they have small heads with a
long neck and legs.(6) They live to be
about 20 years old and can weigh between 120-150 pounds.
They are social animals that live in herds. These animals are sheered to
provide fibers for fleece clothing and can be eaten.
