Salamandra salamandra - Fire Salamander
The European Fire Salamander
Hello! Welcome to my webpage all about the species
Salamandra
salamandra, more commonly known as the fire salamander!
Fire salamanders are known for their unique coloration, and they are considered to be model organisms when studying venomous salamanders.
This webpage will cover everything about this interesting organism
from the way it is named and its
classification, to some unique fun facts.
After learning how this organism was named, I will discuss its
habitat and where it is most commonly found.
Then we will see some of its specific
adaptations and take a look at its
nutritional habits. Then I will discuss the fire salamander's
reproduction and
interactions with other organisms, as
well as discuss its venom. Then in the
gallery, there will be a few interesting
pictures of Salamandra salamandra.
This webpage was created for an Organismal Biology course. This
semester, the topic chosen for the websites created was venomous
organisms. After learning all about fire salamanders, go check out some
other awesome venomous organisms researched by my classmates on the
website: www.MultipleOrganisms.net
In order to learn more about the species Salamandra salamandra,
let us now look at how they are classified on the
Classification page.
