used with permission 2014.

Chile is home to the Leopardus guigna also know as the kodkod or guina. The common name, kodkod, originated from the Araucanian Indians, and guigna is the name used in Chile. It is one of the smallest cat species in the world. The kodkod lives in temperate forests along with the southern pudu (a small Chilean deer), the hog-nosed skunk, and the culpeo fox. It feeds on small rodents, such as rats, and poultry. To find out more, check out the rest of our website.
