National Geograhic photographer swimming with Southern Right Whale

Welcome to the Eubalaena australis webpage!

This organism, commonly known as the Southern Right Whale due to its high demand during whaling times. E. australis swims slowly and floats when dead which results in easy retrieval of innards.  This massive (and well endowed) organism consumes some of the tiniest organisms in the ocean (see Habitat). They are well known for their reproductive habits and abilities. To read in greater depth about their mating rituals check out our Reproduction page.

This website contains information about the E. Australis obtained for Organismal Biology course 203. This course is taught by Dr. Tom Volk and Dr. Eric Snively at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. If you want to learn more about many diverse organisms, visit www.multipleorganisms.net
