Mesodon sanus

Polygyridae

The family Polygyridae has a toothed aperture, the lip is strongly reflected and rounded shell (Burch, 1962). Polygyridae also lack a love dart and possess ribbed jaws (Encyclopedia of Life, 2012). They have growth lines on their shell which are evenly spaced and prominent (Burch, 1962). Wet, moist regions are the usual habitat of this family and most are woodland snails (Burch, 1962).
