Grass Pickerel - BIO 210 Species Study
Contact Us
My name is Sam Schwartz and I am currently
a freshman at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse studying
biology. I am a true Wisconsinite and grew up near Green Bay,
Wisconsin in a town called Little Suamico, roughly twenty
minutes north of Green Bay. I am particularly interested in
aquatic animal species and species behavior denoting my
reasoning for studying biology here at UW-La Crosse. After
obtaining my undergraduate degree, I plan to continue my
education by pursuing a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.
This website is the result of a project assigned to
me by my Animal Biology (BIO 210) professor, Dr. Barrett Klein. I took
particular interest in this project considering the necessary area of
study was aquatic fish species. Throughout this webpage you have the
opportunity to explore the fish species, Esox americanus vermiculatus
or more commonly known as the Grass Pickerel. This site analyzes
classification, reproduction, feeding habits, special habitats, species
interaction, as well as much, much more about the Grass Pickerel.
The information presented in this site was gathered
by many scholarly articles and books as well as government agencies
proving the information reliable. Feel free to view the references page
to verify the source information presented throughout the site. Enjoy
getting an inside look on this fascinating species.
My name is Gaven Brault; I am currently a sophomore
here at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. I
transferred here at the end of last school year from the University of
Wisconsin Milwaukee hoping to pursue my career of getting my major in
biology with physics minor, and eventually becoming a physical
therapist. I grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin and have
lived here in this beautiful state my whole life.
When my Animal Biology (210) professor Dr. Barrett
Klein assigned us this project I was looking forward at studying species
I have never heard of or looked at. I was excited we
got to pick a species of fish to do our project on because I am a huge
outdoors person and love to fish. While going through
our website on the Esox americanus vermiculatus (Grass Pickerel)
you will get to learn things such as the habitat of the fish all the
way to the specific classification of the Pickerel.
The information my partner and I got for our
website was properly cited and found by many scholarly articles,
webpages, and books. As well as government agencies
we used for some of our sources. I hope you enjoy
reading and learning about the Grass Pickerel.
