This website was created for educational purposes, and provides insight into the species Melanoides tuberculatus. Otherwise know by its common name the Red-Rimmed Snail , this snail is native to north eastern Africa and southwestern Asia (Benson, 2013).

 Melanoides tuberculatus  is a land snail that was introduced to many other countries mainly through the aquarium trade, and now have become a major invasive species through the areas they live in. This is mainly due parasitic relationship this snail has with many different nematodes.
