Welcome to the world of the ever interesting castor bean!  This plant is found all over the world and is used to produce many everyday objects.  Feel free to browse around and learn about this magnificent plant!

Did you know that the castor bean is not actually a legume (bean) as it is called, but it is a member of the Euphorbiaceae?  The name Ricinus communis interestingly means dog tick in Latin.  It is named this due to the seeds shape.  Want more information on the tick?  Information on the deer tick can be found here.
