About Me
My name is Lauren Beres and I am currently a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. I am a Biology major with a biomedical focus and I hope to attend medical school once I graduate. This website was made for my organismal biology class where we were told to study a medicinal organism. It is part of a larger project by my peers and professor called Multiple Organisms. I am originally from New Berlin, Wisconsin, a town about 15 miles from Milwaukee.
I chose St. John's wort because of it's various medicinal purposes. There are so many studies about the effects St. John's wort has on depression. I think this plant is interesting because it is so available to anyone who wants to try it.
