*Some other names for the Barn Owl are 'white owl', 'monkey-faced owl', 'silver owl', 'demon owl', 'church owl', 'hobby owl', 'golden owl', 'straw owl', 'delicate owl', 'hissing owl', and 'barnyard owl'.

*Unlike other species, the female Barn Owl is more colorful than the male. The female has a slightly red chest and more spots.

*A family of two adults and 6 young during a 3 month period may consumer over 1,000 rodents.

*Barn Owls sleep so soundly during the day it is difficult for them to wake up until darkness arrives.

*In Indian culture, the Barn Owl is associated with a goddess and considered to be a sign of prosperity and wisdom.

*There are more than 150 species of owls in the world.

*The flattened disk of an owl's face funnels sounds to the bird's ears and magnifies the sound up to 10 times to help it hear noises even humans cannot detect.

*A group of owls is called a parliament, wisdom, or a study. Owlets are baby owls.
