Ants are some of the most interesting organisms in the world.

1. They don't use the bits of leaves they cut for a food source, instead, they "feed" it to a fungal garden and use the fungus as a food source.
2. The colony has a range of different sizes of workers, all have their own jobs.
3. The queen is the heart of the colony, without her, the colony would die.
4. Atta can clear paths up to 300m from their nests.
5. Leafcutter ants have well insulated and air conditioned nests and can change the microclimate around them.
