Just a Little Bit About the Author

  • Currently a junior at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse.
  • Working on completing a Bio-Med major with a Chemistry minor, then continuing on to receive a master's degree as a Physician's Assistant.

I made this page for a class I am currently taking, Organismal Biology. When told we were to make a webpage for an organism, I immediately started thinking of different organisms that cause disease. With countless numbers to choose from, I stumbled upon Plasmodium falciparum. Living in Wisconsin, malaria is a disease that a person may hear about, but actual interaction is unlikely. The increased chances of this disease spreading due to global warming, as well as ignorance for precautions hooked me on the parasite. The life cycle and reproduction complexity of this small organism also caught my attention.
I was impressed by the number of resources I found on this organism that I never even knew before.

I sincerely hope you enjoy the page!
