Classification

Geography

Notochord: Supporting rod running most of the length of animals of the phylum Chordata and present at varying times in the life cycle.

Niche: Term describing the  position of a species or population in an ecosystem.

Copulation: This refers to when two animals undergo sexual reproduction and when the two sex organs meet.

Pharyngeal Slits: Found in chordates, during early development. They are gill-like structures used for feeding.

Lamellae: Comb like structures covered in tiny hairs for filter feeding.

Gizzard: A muscular pouch located at the end of the stomach.
