The Emperor Tamarin

(Saguinus imperator)

Emperor Tamarins are small animals that only grow up to between 23 and 25 centimeters in length! Their tail is longer than them, it can be anywhere from 35 to 42 centimeters in length. The Tamarins distinguishing factor is their large white mustache on their face, hence the nickname "mustached Tamarins."

These tiny creatures inhabit South America and are said to be either Endangered or Threatened in both Brazil and Peru; 2 out of the 3 countries they live in (Binghampton Zoo Animals.)
