Up until the 1970's the Alligator was poached almost to the point of extinction.  There was a ban put on hunting and feeding alligators at this time to help protect them and the humans that were in close proximity of them.  There hide, teeth, and meat were valuable.

    Alligators can outrun a man on land for up to 20-30 yards!  So get out of there!

    Gators can hold their breath underwater for over an hour if needed!

    The only predator that alligators have to worry about it us!
