The Beluga (white whale) is an Arctic Ocean dwelling mammal. The Beluga is one of the smaller whales which only weighs up to 2 tons. The average length is about 16 feet. They have a round, robust shape and are unsuited for swimming fast.

They currently are in a Threatened state on the Endangered Species List; only 100,000-200,000 are left. Hunted by Inuit for their skin, flesh and oils for many centuries.
