About Me

My name is Gerald Malloy and I have almost completed my sophomore year at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. I am majoring in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a minor in chemistry. This web page was created on April 24, 2008.

I chose to make a web page about the pitcher plant Sarracenia rubra primarily because it is an extremely interesting organism that I had originally known nothing about. Carnivorous plants have always caught my interest and amazed me how they attract and capture their prey. It is fascinating that these plants have gotten a leg up on the competition by becoming hunters and feeding on prey.

Thank you to everyone who gave me permission to use their images, I greatly appreciate your help.

Gerald Malloy
