Common name: Grevy's or Imperial
zebra
-
●
The name zebra came from the Galla
word
zecora or the Congolese word zebra.
-
●
Grevy's is the
largest of all the zebras.

●
Zebras need less
water than cattle or horses but more
than donkeys.

narrowest and closest-set stripes of
all zebras.

No two set of
stripes are the same. Every zebra
has its own unique pattern.

to 40 mph.
-

Males will fight
over females or territory by biting,
rearing, kicking, and vocalizing
their aggression.

All
zebras can twitch their skin to dislodge
flies. Rolling in dust, water, or
mud helps protect against insects. When
dried mud falls away it dislodges ticks.
Zebras also roll or scratch against
trees, rocks, or termite mounds to
relieve itchy skin, hair, or parasites.
