Have you ever been in a crowded public place or stayed at a hospital? Is your grandmother or someone else that you know in a nursing home? If you said yes to either of these questions, then you need to learn more about MRSA and what impact it could have on your life or the life of someone you know.
MRSA has become more popular recently in the United States. It is a Staph infection that has become resistant to certain types of antibiotics that are normally used to combat these infections. It is easily spread from person to person and you may be at risk simply by being in a public place with someone else who has MRSA.
People who live in crowded places such as nursing homes, hospitals, or prisons are at the greatest risk. With such confined quarters, contact with other people is impossible to avoid and the likelihood of getting this infection increases. Also, people who have a compromised immune system, such as those living in nursing homes or being treated in hospitals are at a higher risk.
If you are one of the millions of people who could possibly get this infection, then you need to learn how to combat this disease by learning more about how it is spread, what the symptoms are, and how to treat it. Don't let yourself become one of the millions of Americans suffering from this infection.
