Fun stuff about sloths

Pale-throated three-toed sloths are known as the slowest mammals on earth. Of course this only applies when the sloth is on the ground. Under normal conditions, the pale-throated three-toed sloth moves at a speed of 0.25 Mph, that's pretty slow. Besides being slow on land, sloths have been known to be very good swimmers.

Sloths do everything while hanging in the trees. They eat, sleep, reproduce, and can even die while hanging. Yes, sloths spend so much time hanging in the trees that they have been known to stay suspended for a while even after death.

Bradypus tridactylus spends on average 19 hours a day sleeping.

Bradypus tridactylus is covered in different organisms. Some sloths have been found to carry up to 1000 Trichilium sp. of beetles on them, and hundreds of Cryptoses sp. of moth.

As mentioned before, the Bradypus tridactylus has been gifted with 9 vertebrae in its neck, this allows the sloth to be able to turn its head an amazing 270 degrees.
