About the Author

My name is Peter Hordyk and I am currently an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse.  I am a double major in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences and hope to one day become a doctor.  When not studying or attending class I can usually be found volunteering at the local hospital or enjoying life with my friends.

This page was produced because of my love for food.  One of my favorite things happens to be a freshly made carrot cake.  Just the thought of a slice makes my mouth water and my taste buds tingle.  I can remember every year as a child my father would make a carrot cake for Easter and I would become filled with anticipation for the chance to sample the slice of heaven.  It was this love and devotion to carrot cake that swayed me to produce a webpage dedicated to the organism that allows carrot cake to exist, the carrot.
