Welcome!!
Hey! My name is Nicole and
I'm a biology major at the
University of
Wisconsin - La Crosse. I want to start by thanking you for
visiting my
web page on peppermint (Mentha x piperita).
This webpage was constructed as a class assignment for Organismal
Biology (BIO 203).
There are more web pages on a variety of different
organisms
on the
Multiple
Organism Website.
It is common for someone to think of a regular mint, like
shown below,
when hearing the word 'peppermint,' however; these mints are not 100% peppermint. They contain oil/extract that is produced by the peppermint plant (Mentha x piperita). Peppermint is known as a herbal mint. A herbal mint is any mint that possess herbal properties, meaning they have culinary,
medical, cosmetic, or other uses. To learn more about these
uses check out the Organism Interaction page.
