Western Australian Christmas Tree
(Nuytsia floribunda)
About me!
My name is Jordan Mortensen, and am currently a freshmen at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. I am a Biology major with a Biomedical emphasis. At the time I am hoping to make it into Physical Therapy Graduate school one day. Before heading to Lacrosse I spent my whole life in Rothschild, WI where I went to D.C. Everest High School. There I really enjoyed playing sports such as Football and Track and Field. When I'm not playing sports I'm either watching sports or going up to the ski hill to get some snowboarding in.

Why Nuytsia floribunda?
I took BIO 203 or Organismal Biology as a major requirement, and one of the assignments for the class is to make a web page on an organism. I chose this organism because of its extremely bright orange flowers that light up the blue Australian sky. Also, the fact that the tree is parasitic really attracted my attention along with the fact that there is not very much information on the tree. This really willed me to produce a webpage for this organism that would really come in handy for other students and the general public.
