My name is Chelsea Ruda.  I currently am a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.  I grew up in La Crosse and love the natural beauty of this area.  The beauty of the river and bluffs is unbeatable no matter the season!

Here at UW-L, I am a Biomedical Science Major with minors in Chemistry and Spanish.   I hope to continue my schooling after graduating from UW-L and become an Optometrist.  Besides science and Spanish classes, I enjoy reading, running, and spending time with my friends and family.  My dad, Ken; mom, Pat; twin sister, Lexi; and dog, Maya are all very important parts of my life.

This website was created for an Organismal Biology class under the instruction of Dr. Tom Volk and Dr. Greg Sandland.  The theme for this semester was "food organisms" and therefore I chose the mango.  I have loved mangos since I first tried them when I was little and thought this was the perfect opportunity to explore more about this wonderful organism.  During my research, I was surprised to find the vast medicinal properties this organism also contains.  If you would like to learn more about the other organisms chosen by my classmates, please visit multipleorganisms.net.  If you have any questions about the project or website, please contact me:

I hope you have enjoyed exploring my website and that you learned more about the wonderful Mangifera indica!  Thank you to Dr. Volk, Dr. Sandland, Saundra Solum, and the ITS Support Center.  Also, a special thank you to my family for helping me in the process of creating the website!  To go back and check out my website again, click home
