Welcome to My Brazil Nut Site!
More commonly known as “The Brazil Nut,” the Bertholletia excelsa nut is one of the most influential kinds of nuts found throughout the world. For hundreds of years, the tree B. excelsa has grown throughout the Amazon Rainforest, and has provided for the surrounding nations in more than one way. These nuts are not only significant sources of multiple dietary nutrients, but they are also the core of a branch of trading that spans the entire globe.
My name is Peter Zepke and I attend the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. This site was made as a project for my Organismal Biology course, so I hope that you find it interesting and informative. More interesting organisms associated with other students' website projects can be found at http://www.multipleorganisms.net
To the left is a picture of me. This particular photo was taken by my brother during one of our biennial visits to Maceió, Brazil.
