Story 3
:
In Portland, Oregon on November 23, 1995 there was a 10-year-old boy who was bitten on the leg while he was sleeping.  After two days, two lesions developed and they began to swell.  They were about 3 cm in diameter and there was blistering.  A week after the boy was bit, necrosis developed and his ankle and leg turned red in color.  The boy was also suffering from painful headaches and nausea.  The doctor treated him with oral diphenhydramine hydrochloride, and ice and heat were used on the bit spot.  After about a month the tenderness in the area on the foot had lessened, but the headaches were present for another 4 months before totally going away.
