Facts

As you have now learned, the Panamanian Golden Frog is a very interesting organism!  Enjoy the following five fun facts listed below.

-The Panamanian Golden Frog is the national symbol of the Republic of Panama.  This organism appears everywhere, from tourist guides to t-shirts to coffee cups to lottery tickets.

-It is believed by locals in Panama that seeing the Panamanian Golden Frog will bring good luck to your life.

-In the way that people use fingerprints for identification, the black spots on the back of the Panamanian Golden Frog are all unique and can be used in the same way.

-Contrary to most other frogs, the Panamanian Golden Frog has a unique ambling walk instead of hopping or jumping.

-Declared by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association, the year 2008 was titled "The Year of the Frog" in recognition of struggling frog populations across the world.

The Panamanian Golden Frog is one of the most unique frogs in existence.  I chose to research this organism because of how unique it is in many aspects of its life.  Between its vibrant coloring, unique toxin, interesting mannerisms, and critically endangered status, who wouldn't like to dig deeper into the life of this creature?  After reviewing all the information I have provided you about the Panamanian Golden Frog, my wish is that you are able to recognize what sets this organism apart from everything else.
