Eastern Tiger Snake - Notechis scutatus
Woman Behind the Web Page
Hello everyone! My name is Shayna Zalec and I am a junior at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. I am currently majoring in biology, with a concentration in biomedical science and a minor in chemistry. My goal is to start dental school in the Fall of 2015. Within the next 6-8 years, I hope to work as a dentist of general practice or orthodontics. I am from De Pere, WI, which is a suburb of Green Bay (GO PACK GO). In my free time, I enjoy working out, hanging out with friends, spending time outdoors, and listening to music.
For this project, I chose the eastern tiger snake because I did not know much about this specific organism. I learned characteristics about this animal and more specifically, the snake population as a whole, and this was the organism that jumped out at me while I was looking through the list of available creatures. Through the hours of research, I was able to learn and appreciate the complexity, uniqueness, and learn the life story of this snake species. This has been a very rewarding project that has broadened my knowledge on one of the most venomous snakes in the world.
Thank you for taking the time to view my webpage and I hope you were able to obtain a much greater understanding and appreciation of the species Notechis scutatus. This website was made specifically for my Bio 203 course. If you have any further questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me or my professors.
